Danny’s Story

“When I first arrived at PLCF, I was in a real big ditch. I was struggling for money and having issues with substance abuse. PLCF offered me a job as part of the Government Kickstart scheme which gave me the skills to turn my life around and go into my chosen field of work. I learned a lot about how to manage my own finances, how to provide support and care for people with complex needs. I was provided with formal training for the job role, such as Health and Safety, GDPR, First Aid and Mental Health First Aid. I have now gone on to work as a support worker at a charity that deals with individuals with additional needs. The skills I learned at PLCF have come in very handy for this and I couldn’t thank them more for helping me to get to this position. I am enjoying my new role and with the advantage of the people skills I learned, I feel I can progress further and further in my current job. I recommend PLCF highly for anyone who needs a bit of a hand in life, whether it involves volunteering or a paid role, PLCF are perfectly equipped to help anyone out of a rubbish situation.”
