I first came to Pennine Lancashire Community Farm with Burnley College a couple of years ago and when I left I started volunteering here.
I like all different things about coming here and thought I’d carry on coming, I learn all kind of skills like knitting, it helps me and it helps my confidence. It’s helped my sewing too, I made a purse the other day! I never thought I would learn knitting at a farm!
I’ve met with all sorts of people here, it’s taken me awhile, but I’m getting there, I’m still working on it… socialising. It took me ages to talk to new people but I’m getting better. I’m just one of those quiet ones.
Everything’s so new still, you learn everyday don’t you. Like in the summer I did a lawnmower course. A proper lawnmower with a petrol engine.
Others should do this too. It would help their confidence, they’ll meet all different kinds of people, it will give them skills to garden, use tools like saws, which reminds me, have you seen the reindeer I made?
